Health Brigades

We are thankful to God for the way He gave us the opportunity to go out with the mobile teams. June 9-12 we had a health brigade team going to Puerto Libertador and we reached a total of 2610 persons with Oral care, medicine, counseling, carpentry, evangelism and Christian education. Thanks to the doctors Carlos and Libia Méndez, Dentists who did a great job.

We have had our last Health Brigade of this year in Montelibano and Córdoba. We attended to 3000 persons by distributing medicine, clothes, counseling, psychiatric care, agriculture, carpentry, literature, and nutrition and in the evenings we had evangelistic meetings where many received the Gospel of the Lord.

We also held the “Pact For No Violence” together with the Evangelical Church, the Mayors office, Schools and other entities.

We wish you a merry Christmas and a happy New Year 2007

We are ending this semester of 2006 with great results. All girls had good results and excellent grades. We had very creative holidays, so that the cultural and social aspect would be fruitful. We are in need of more spiritual and financial help, since the girls are growing fast and there are 20 now. The daily costs are rising considerably.  

We are thankful to God for the good results with each girl, proving that our labor is not in vain.

This is Andrés Felipe Hernández the youngest child of our home who came in January to live with us.

During this time he has adapted himself very well living with the other kids, feeling being loved respected and being part of a family nucleus.

                        When he came he was in a far stage of nutrition deficiency. Because he had to stay home alone while his mom worked. He had to survive with the little physical and emotional developments he had being left all alone. Kids in this kind of situations usually end up living in the streets and then it is even harder to get them back on track.

We give thanks to God because we can be part of his life in his restoration and development and it is a joy to see the great progress he is making.

The rest of the boys in the house are growing up fast with good Christian principles, in a healthy social structure with a good education and spiritual formation.

The 24th of November we had the goodbye party for the children who go home for the school vacation period of December. It was very emotional to see them finish their school year. Some received presents or medals for being good students in school. Luis Arney received a decoration from his school, and also from the municipality of Medellín because he was one of the best in the city. Praise God.

Also we said goodbye to some of our children because they are now able to live with they relatives again. It is very difficult to say goodbye to them, but we know that their own family is irreplaceable. We wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year 2007
